This eight-hour adaptation of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification program incorporates medical terminology, utilizes case studies, and provides health and human service professionals with comprehensive information on pharmacotherapy specific to the treatment of nicotine dependence.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals INSTRUCTOR Certification

Upon successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals program, certified individuals are encouraged to attend this eight-hour workshop to learn the methods and techniques to teach the corresponding certification program. Instructor candidates acquire comprehensive information on nicotine dependence treatment medication, and to evaluate participant performance. Participants receive multimodal educational resources tailored to medical and allied health audiences to facilitate workshop instruction.

Pharmacotherapy Companion Guide

The Pharmacotherapy Companion Guide serves as a supplement to the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals certification program. The Guide is also used to support other HealthCare Partnership continuing education/certification programs that target pointof- care providers who monitor medication therapy and/or who are prescribers. The Guide contains information that is specific to the pharmacotherapy treatment of nicotine dependence.

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Maternal and Child Health

Originally developed for Women, Infants, & Children [WIC] Community Nutrition Workers, this eight hour adaptation of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification program includes a focus on tobacco use during pregnancy and the effects of environmental tobacco smoke on children and families.

Maternal and Child Health Companion Guide

This supplement to the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Maternal and Child Health program allows participants to adapt health messages to be culturally responsive to Native Communities.

Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification

This two-part program is targeted to individuals who provide intensive tobacco dependence treatment services. Part I of the certification program is conducted online at www.aztreattobacco.org in a self-paced case-study format and can take up to eight hours. Part II is a full day face-to-face practicum utilizing a small-group format.

Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialists are taught skills to analyze elements of intensive interventions, apply components of Motivational Interviewing, facilitate multi-session intensive programs within the structure of existing nationally recognized programs, and to serve as resource persons on tobacco dependence treatment for other health and human service professionals. Successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification program or one of its adaptations is a prerequisite for Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification.

Tobacco Treatment Specialist INSTRUCTOR Certification

Upon successful completion of the Tobacco Treatment Specialist program, certified individuals may attend this eight-hour workshop to learn the methods and techniques to teach the Tobacco Treatment Specialist practicum and to evaluate participant performance. Participants receive multimodal educational resources to facilitate workshop instruction.

Instructional Specialist Certification

The two-day Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Instructional Specialist program is designed for entities who are interested in replicating the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills program model. It introduces participants to the principles of adult learning theory, along with the adult education programming methods used to design the HealthCare Partnership model. The workshop focuses on practical skills applications and presents the foundations of the HealthCare Partnership model to ensure fidelity of program replication.

Tobacco Dependence Treatment Program for Native Communities Speaker's Kit

The HealthCare Partnership Speaker's Bureau comprises a select group of dynamic presenters from across the Nation. Prior to attending the one-hour Speaker Orientation, participants are required to attend a Tobacco Dependence Treatment (TDT) Program and receive certification in a Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Workshop. The Speaker Kit prepares presenters with materials and information on how to provide a TDT session.
